Lagos club, Mountain of Fire and Miracles (MFM) FC recorded their first away win of the season after they defeated hosts Sunshine Stars 1-0 at the Akure Township Stadium in Week Six of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clash.
Stephen Odey scored the only goal of the game to take his tally to five league goals as the top-scorer thus taking MFM FC (12 points) to within one point of leaders Plateau United (13 points).
In the pick of the other games, FC Ifeanyi Ubah edged Enugu Rangers 1-0 through Prince Aggrey from the penalty spot while Plateau United maintained their status as the only unbeaten side with a goalless draw at home side Nasarawa United.
Elsewhere at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) defeated visiting Rivers United 2-1. Teenage striker, Sunday Faleye scored the opener for the Oluyole Warriors 17 minutes into the game, Rivers United got the equalizer through Lukman Mohammed in the 29th minute, before Jide Apena scored the mach-winner from Faleye’s assist in the 69th minute.
Both Niger Tornadoes and Katsina United FC settled for 1-1 draw. Adamu Mohammed scored late winner in the added minutes to give former champions Kano Pillars 1-0 victory against Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) FC in Kano.
Sunday Adetunji scored the only goal as Abia Warriors defeated Gombe United FC 1-0 at the Umuahia Stadium. Solomon Kwambe provided the assist for Eduwo Kingsley who scored gave Lobi their first goal in the 52th minute, before scoring the second from the penalty spot on the stroke of 90 minutes, as Lobi defeated Wikki 2-0.
Remo Stars suffered 1-0 loss away to Akwa United at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
